Winona Williams

Services for Winona Catherine Williams, 84, of Fitzhugh are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Fitzhugh Baptist Church, her grandson, Rev. Tyler McDowell and Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Williams passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at an Oklahoma City hospice house. She was born December 20, 1934 at Laxton, OK to James William and Carrie Estella Cantrell McDonald. She graduated from Fitzhugh High School and also attended East Central University.

She married Steve Williams July 14, 1978 in Stroud. He preceded her in death November 2000. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a longtime member of Fitzhugh Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Rajena McDowell of Stroud, Sammie Carmita Bond and husband Stan of West Monroe, LA and Richard Harrison and wife Anna of Latta; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends. The family would like extend a special thanks to Jerry and Kim Thomas and their family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Bearers will be Jason Bond, Luke Reed, Brent Cormier, Jerry Thomas, Caleb Riley and Shad Harrison.
