ADA-The family will host a memorial service for Winnie Lavonne Griffis, 60, of Ada, 10:00 a.m. Saturday at The River Church, Rev. Robert Ware will officiate.
Ms. Griffis died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at her home. She was born March 4, 1954 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Winston and Nola Thayer Carey. She attended school at Wagoner.
Ms. Griffis was a Certified Nurse Assistant for many years and she was a member of The River Church.
Survivors include a son, Dustin Griffis and his wife Felicia of Ada; two daughters, Brenda Sanderson and her husband Bobby of Tulsa, and Cynthia Griffis of Tulsa; a brother, Winston Richard Carey and his wife Kim of Sand Springs; and many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Tammy Raye Griffis.
