Obituary

Willie White Jr.

Services for Willie Howard White Jr.,79, of Francis, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Bailey and Rev. Jamie Perry will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Willie was born December 30, 1946 in Weleetka, OK. to Gertrude P. (Womack) and Willie H. White. He was the baby boy that was welcomed into the world by his parents and closest sister, Beverly June (White) Puckett. He also had 7 older half-sisters that loved him dearly, Charlotte, Rosalie and Betty Joyce Colman, Bernice (White) Defee, Paula, Donna and Patsy (Brown) and one brother that he always looked up to, Clifton White.

Willie grew up in Weleetka and Pharaoh, OK where he was taught to be a hard worker. He always had a deep love for football and his Weleetka Outlaws. He still talked fondly of his football coach, W.L. Smith.

After leaving Weleetka, Willie moved to Moore, OK. to attend Messers Heating and Air School. While living in Moore, he met the love of his life, LaWanda Jeanne West. They met at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Moore, OK. They were married in the church on September 21, 1968.

They had a son Christopher White and a daughter Angela White. Willie and Jeanne moved to Francis, OK in 1971. He went to work for Vindale Mobile Homes for a few years before starting at Solo Cup Co in 1976. He worked for Solo Cup 25 years until his retirement in 2001. He was the full-time pastor of Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church for 20 years, retiring on July 25,2021.

Willie was very passionate about his favorite past-times, hunting and fishing. He loved these two things almost as much as his wife and kids. He made several hunting trips to Colorado with his best friends Richard Bailey, Larry Wheeler, Gary Caldwell, and Richard’s sons. He cherished those hunting trips, even when he didn’t kill anything. He also spent many summer nights on the South Canadian River fishing with the Scroggins brothers.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents and all of his half-siblings, his mother and father-in-law, Hazel and Orvel West, brothers in law Jimmy Puckett, Lonnie West and Chester Dixon, Sister-in-law, Sue Dixon, nieces Brandy Jackson, Debra Dixon and Michelle West and many other relatives.

Willie is survived by his wife Jeanne of the home, son Chris White and wife Laura and their children Oriana, Savannah, Cassidy and Thomas White all of Indiana. Daughter Angela White of Francis and her children Madison Murray, Liberty Murray (and Gage) and Hunter Murray (and Kylee) and two Great Grandsons Rowan Williamson and Radley Foster. Sister Beverly June Puckett and sister-in-law Carolyn West of Oklahoma City and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Thomas White, Gage Fuller, Kenny Wheeler, Cody Haynes, Isaiah Perry, and Chris White.
