WILLIE L. REED
ADA-Services for Willie L. Reed, 85, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born July 10, 1922 in Ada, Oklahoma to William E. and Flora Jones Ballard. She lived most of her life in Ada. She attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School.
She married Merle Reed on October 19, 1940. Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and managed the "The Good Book Store". She was a longtime member of the Worship Center Church of God, and she and her husband were members of the Ada Hobo's Club for many years.
Survivors include her husband Merle Reed, of the home; a daughter, Judi Buffington and husband Bill, Tulsa; a son, Gary Reed and wife Kay, Ada; one brother, Eddy Ballard and wife Merle, Ada; and two sisters, Yvonne Pruitt and husband Dexter, Ada, Rita Park, Sasakwa; 4 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Larry Reed, a brother, Deon Ballard, and a sister, Virgie Weems.
Bearers will be her grandsons and nephews, Kelly Reed, Bart Reed, Derek Criss, John Ballard, J. B. Bolin, and Mark Prentice.
