CLYDE MCFARLAND
MUSTANG-Services for William Clyde McFarland, 95, Mustang, are noon Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Van Newton officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The honor guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. McFarland was born Sept. 7, 1914, to John Marshall and Mary Ellen McFarland in St. Jo, Arkansas. He died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at a Yukon hospital. He lived in the Ahloso area. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philipines, Okinawa and Korea. He retired from ARKLA gas company in 1979 after 33 years of service and he was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. McFarland and Susie Lorene Hill were married Sept. 30, 1933, in Ada. She preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 2002.
Survivors include one daughter, Elwanda Grant and husband Jim, Mustang, OK; two grandsons, Kevin Grant and wife Judy, Yukon, and Kyle Grant and wife Kim, Yukon; three great-grandchildren, Haley, Katy and Carson; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leslie McFarland and Martin McFarland; and seven sisters, Polly Huddleston, Sara Hutchings, Frona Stucks, Lila Newton, Arvilla Newton, Tishie Ross and Maude McFarland.
Bearers are Jim Grant, Kevin Grant, Kyle Grant, Tom Agee, Jan Newton and Jim King.
Honorary bearers are J.D. Daggs, Warren Daggs, Wylie McFarland, Dusty Smith, Wayne King and Sonny Simpson.
