JAMIE HOWARD
ALLEN-Services for William James "Jamie" Howard, 77, of Allen are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Allen School Auditorium, Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 3:00 p.m. Sunday until service time.
Mr. Howard died Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home. He was born December 30, 1935 in Allen, Oklahoma to Norman and Etta Hays Howard.
He married Earlene Miller on November 20, 1954. In his younger years, Mr. Howard farmed and raised cattle, but also worked in construction. He worked for OG & E for several years before starting his own construction and heavy equipment business, Howard's Dozer Service. After retiring from the construction business, he was able to do what he loved, farming and raising cattle. His favorite past time was driving around in his pastures just looking at his cattle and he always knew if one was missing. He enjoyed feeding his fish in the pond and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. Mr. Howard was a member of the Allen Masonic Lodge #81.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Howard, of the home; his children, Kathy Nichols and husband Roy of Wagoner, Michael Howard and wife Debra, Gary Howard and wife Glenda and Kay Heck and husband Rick, all of Allen; his grandchildren, Julie Porter and husband Don of Catoosa, Jeff Nichols and wife Stephany of Tulsa, Chris Howard and wife Kierra, Larry Howard and Kristi, Chad Goodson and wife Keisha, all of Allen, Cole Goodson and Amber of Atwood, Kayla Dupler and husband Cody of Lawton, and Hannah Heck of Allen; his great grandchildren, Colyn, Bailey, Keegan, Gentry and Larkin Porter, Maycee, Malloree and Maebree Howard; Tagus and Keithon Howard and Brogen and Khloe Goodson; his brother, Cecil Howard of Gerty; and sisters, Shirley Cline and husband Marvin of Altus and Lynn Matthews and husband Charlie of Marlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lindell Howard, Norman "Bunk" Howard, Carlton Howard and Walter Howard.
Bearers are Chris Howard, Larry Howard, Chad Goodson, Cole Goodson, Jeff Nichols and Don Porter. Honorary bearers are Carl Wages, Dale Stout, Jerry Martin, Ruben Huffstutler, David Phillips and Bill Arthur.
