Rev. William Jackson
ADA-Services for Rev. William Leroy Jackson, 85, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Ada Baptist Temple, Brother Mickey Hollars will officiate. A Committal service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Duncan.
Rev. Jackson died Monday, July 13, 2015 at his daughter's home. He was born April 20, 1930 at Kansas City, Missouri to James Jackson and Laurine Conus Jackson. He graduated from high school in Kansas City and the Bible Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. He received his Master's in Divinity from Great Plains Divinity School.
He married Joyce Nelle Cook June 3, 1950. Rev. Jackson was a Baptist minister for over 60 years. He was a member of the Ada Baptist Temple. He served as a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol in Wichita Falls, TX, retiring as a Lt. Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; daughter, JoAnn Hollars and husband, Rev. Mickey Hollars, Ada; a son, Jimmy Dale Jackson and wife Vanessa of Montana; a brother, Rev. Bob Jackson, Lubbock, TX; sister, Esther Rowley, Duncan; six grandchildren, Donna Schepers, Dominican Republic, William Craig Hollars, North Carolina, Gloria Rachael Ray, Anchorage, AK, Grace Ann Howell, Arkansas, Trent Jackson, Billings, MT, and Lindsey Orozco, Montana; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan Jackson.
Bearers will be Jerry Jackson, Cory Rowley, Sandy Little, Mike Sevedge, Burt Dailey and Aaron Dial.
