(Bill) Turner
January 31, 1929 – February 24, 2022
Services for Bill Turner, 93, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Rusty Fuller, David Gray and Don Sayre will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bill left this world peacefully February 24, 2022. He was born January 31, 1929 in the Egypt Community, northwest of Ada to Norvil P. Turner and Fannie Maye Boland Turner. Bill's mother passed away shortly after his birth and her sister and her husband Burlie and John Cantrell raised Bill. He attended Ada Schools and graduated from Ada High School. He attended East Central awhile before entering the Army Air Corp. and after his discharge.
He and Charlene Williams were married in 1952. He worked for an airline for a while then he and Charlene moved over seas where he worked in the oil well services. He later owned and operated this service until the political unrest became a problem for North Americans. They moved back to Ada, and Bill started working in construction.
They moved to Northern Indiana where they lived until Bill retired. His wife Charlene died in 1990 in Indiana. He brought her back to Ada and he moved back after retiring. He and Bobbie Morris were married in 1991. They had a fine life in retirement. They traveled, fished and enjoyed life.
Bobbie passed in 2009. After this he built a small catamaran powered by an outboard motor. The work on a boat had an easing affect he said.
Bill considered himself well blessed to have three stepdaughters, a step son and a step grandson he raised. Survivors are Monte and Bob Custer, Winifred and Paul Watson, Joe Davis and Valerie; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norvel and Fanny Turner; Burlie and John Cantrell; Michael Anne Morningstar, Hoyt Morris; brothers and sisters, John W. Turner, George N. Turner, Norvil P. Turner, Doil Turner, Novella Turner and Jessie Mae Robertson.
Bearers are Mark Crockett, Alan Crockett, Edmon Perkins, Larry Robertson, Patrick Turner and Spencer Ulm.
