BILL CANIDA

ADA-Services for William Francis "Bill" Canida, 82, Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Canida died Monday, April 28, 2008 in Ada, Oklahoma. He was born July 24, 1925 at Wister, Oklahoma to Marion O. and Mary Elizabeth Bullard Canida. He attended Tupelo school and moved to Ada when he was 17 years old.

He married Kathleen Kirby on January 16, 1946 at Coalgate, Oklahoma. She died April 26, 2000. Mr. Canida was a mechanic at Owens Brockway Glass Company in Ada, retiring after 26 years of service. He was a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Ada Lodge #119 AF & AM., and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Caldwell, Del City, and Kay Perry and husband Kirk, Ada; a son, Bobby Canida and wife Cathy, Center; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Gregory, Ada, and Billie Gray, Pickett; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kathleen "Snooks" Canida on April 26, 2000, a son, Jimmy Canida on August 12, 1992, six brothers, and six sisters.

Bearers will be Thadd Russell, Tim Price, Jackie Teel, Kirk Perry, Derrick Manning, and Clarence Kolb, Jr.
