Obituary

Services for Will Jefferson Hamilton are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16 at First Baptist Church in Stonewall, OK, Apostle Garry Bruner will officiate.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Stonewall.

Will Jefferson Hamilton was born on October 24th to the union of Alvin Hamilton and Mandy Franklin. He died on October 7, 2021 at the age of 86. Will J. Hamilton went peacefully into the presence of the Lord.

Will J. Hamilton attended schools in the Leader community and Stonewall in a time of segregation. During his early years, whoever picked him up first determined which school he went too. He graduated from Napier High School in Ada, Oklahoma and lived a quiet life in Stonewall, Oklahoma.

Will J. Hamilton served in the Army of the United States of America military during the Korean War Time era. He traveled to Europe by ship and lived in Germany. He was honorably released from active duty after two years.

Will J. Hamilton married Maple Colbert and to this union were born 10 children. They were married for 61 years. They raised their children in the admonition and presence of the Lord. He provided a safe and nourishing environment.

Will J. Hamilton was a humble person and a loving husband. He loved his wife Maple of 61 years like Christ loves the church. He had a wonderful sense of humor and woke up each morning with a smile. He had a heart of gratitude and godly wisdom.

Will J. Hamilton was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In 1970, he became a Deacon under the Pastoral care of the late Rev. Jim Colbert and Rev. FD Cochran Sr. Rev. Cochran Sr. publicly spoke of Deacon Hamilton's faithfulness.

As a faithful Deacon and member during his active years, he happily helped wherever was needed the most. He and his wife were known as prayer warriors. They enjoyed praying in the homes of others, throughout the community, and in hospitals.

Will Jefferson Hamilton early work history included a ranch help on the Rhynes Ranch and as an employee of Service Chevrolet.

Will J. Hamilton join the Holnam plant quarry now known as Holcium family in 1974. His awarded certificates include Industrial Welding I, Holnam Cement & Concrete Technology I. He also received a certificate from the U.S Department of Labor for working 16 years without sustaining a lost-time accident. Will J. Hamilton retired from Holcium after 27 years.

Will J.  Hamilton peaceful and calm demeanor spoke louder than his words.

He was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He let his light shine before all men that they may see his good works and glorify the Father in Heaven.

Survivors include his wife, Maple Hamilton, of the home; Four daughters: Margaret Hamilton, Marvine Hamilton, DeAnne Hamilton; Shelia Hamilton of the home and his caregiver.  Five sons, Deacon Jeff Hamilton and wife Yolanda, Deacon Stephen Hamilton and wife Wendy, David Hamilton and wife Jalean, Andy Hamilton, Dale Hamilton and wife Donnulette; and a host of grandchildren (4 of whom he helped raise as children in his home: Derrick Rogers, Darron Hamilton, Daryl Hamilton, and David Hamilton) all of the great grandchildren, family, and friends he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Alvin Hamilton and his mother, Mandy Franklin; his daughter, Evea Hamilton-Lyons
