Services for Wendell Uhlich, 98, of Ada, are at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Murphy officiating.   Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Uhlich passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at her daughter's home in Moore. She was born on July 28, 1923, in Tupelo, OK to Ransy Johnson and Minnie Lee Robins Johnson.

After graduating from Tupelo High School in 1941, she worked at Hazel Atlas Glass in Ada. Later she moved to Oklahoma City to work at Douglas Aircraft from April 1943 to August 1945, where she joined many other women in making C-47 cargo planes.  She returned to Ada in 1945.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Murphy and husband Larry, of Moore and Lynda Lawson Starks and husband Eddy, of Ada; sister, Sherlene Elliott; grandsons, Brian Murphy and Tommy Lawson; great-grandchildren, Riley Lawson, Trace Lawson, Gabrielle Starks, Ty Lawson, and Journey Kay Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Johnny Lawson and step-grandson, Jason Starks; sisters, Naomi Stephens and Oletha Palmer; and brother, Delbert Johnson.

Bearers will be Larry Murphy, Eddy Starks, Brian Murphy, Tommy Lawson, Trace Lawson and Ty Lawson.
