WAYNE PENNINGTON

STRATFORD-Services for Wayne L. Pennington, 70, Stratford, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Pennington died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at a Norman hospital. He was born July 8, 1937 at Stratford, Oklahoma to Alfred and Lorraine Riley Pennington. He attended school at Parish Chapel and graduated from Vanoss High School.

He married Dixie Druzilla Elmore on October 11, 1957 at Stratford, Oklahoma. Mr. Pennington was a farmer and a self-employed produce salesman, and later a salesman for Guderian Produce. He was a member of Central Church of Christ, the Pontotoc County Swine Association, and a F.F.A. sponsor.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie Pennington, of the home; two daughters, Bobbi Collins and husband Tony, Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Penni Pennington Brewer, Vanoss; two sons, Anthony Pennington and wife Carol, Arp, Texas, and Shane Pennington, Ada; four brothers, Garland Pennington, Weleetka, Jerry Pennington, Stratford, Wayland Pennington, Stratford, and Donnie Pennington, Stratford; his step-mother, Estelle Pennington, Stratford; seven grandchildren, Constance Collins, Nathan Collins, Heath Pennington, September Pennington, Geoffrey Pennington, Ryan Pennington, and Bethany Brewer; and two great grandchildren, Brylie Shae Pennington and Brooke Alexis Pennington.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelsea Estelle Carson, a daughter-in-law, Casey Pennington, a brother, Afton Pennington, and his parents.

Bearers will be Clay Young, Larry Green, Jeff Moore, Tommy Collins, David Bryan and Jim Rice. Honorary bearers will be Steve Gray and Mark Gray.
