WAYMON LILLARD
LULA-Services for Waymon Lillard, 83, of Lula are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Lula Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Lillard died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his home. He was born August 7, 1931 in Lula, Oklahoma to Bill and Estella Lillard. He graduated from Lula High School in 1950.
He married Vera Cooper on April 10, 1953. They moved to Bossier City, LA where he served as Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force and later to Irving, Texas where he was General Manager at Southwest Wheel for 42 years. Mr. and Mrs. Lillard retired to Lula in 1994 to continue ranching and farming full time. He was a member of the Angus Association for 24 years. He contributed to the Lula Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years and sat on the Cattleman's Association Board of Directors, and was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Lillard, of the home; two sons, Dewain Lillard and wife Susan of Jenks, and Gary Lillard and wife Angie of Blue Ridge, TX; five grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Michael Sunlin, Justin Lillard, Michael Lillard, Tabitha and husband Trey Geiger and Chace Lillard; his mother, Lois Lillard of Ada; two sisters, Nell Jackson and husband Oniel of Ada and Tawana Hynes of Stroud; and a brother, Norris Lillard and wife Elnora of Ada.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be his grandsons. Honorary bearers will be B. J. Fletcher, David Crow, H. A. Blackburn, Morris McGehee and Jim Johnson.
