ADA-Services for Warren Dale Tilley, 80, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Tilley died Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Norman Veterans Center. He was born September 18, 1931 in the Beebe Community, northwest of Ada, Oklahoma to Haskell J. and Pauline Backus Tilley. He lived in this area all his life and graduated from Ada High School in 1948.
Mr. Tilley was a Postal Clerk for the U. S. Postal Service in Ada from 1959 until retiring in 1987. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean war from April 1952 until being honorably discharged in 1953.
Survivors a son, Jeffrey Dale Tilley and his wife Debi of Choctaw; a grandson, Jimmie Dale Tilley of Ada; seven brothers, Richard Tilley, Pasadena, TX, David Tilley, San Antonio, TX, Herb Tilley, Azle, TX, Gary Tilley, Meridian, TX, Max Tilley, Madill, OK, Ed Tilley, Yukon, OK, and Steve Tilley, Sulphur, OK; and two sisters, Margaret Tilley, Garden Valley, ID, and Mary Sue McGinty, Yukon.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Burton and a brother, Paul Tilley.
Bearers will be Max Tilley, David Tilley, Gary Tilley, Jeffrey Tilley, Randall Jolley and Arthur Irwin. Honorary bearers will be Steve Tilley, Ed Tilley, Herb Tilley, Richard Tilley, Kirby Tilley and Roy Hinkle.
