WANDA SHROPSHIRE
ADA-Services for Wanda LaFae Shropshire, 74, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Shropshire died Monday, June 13, 2011 at her residence in Ada. She was born July 30, 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma to Orville and Beulah Abston. She attended Vanoss and Ada schools.
She married Jesse Ray Shropshire on Christmas Eve 1953. He preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Shropshire was one of the original waitresses at the Huddle Restaurant in Ada, and was a Sales Associate and the head of the Snack Bar Department for Wal-Mart for over 25 years. She was a former member of the Gaar Corner Free Will Baptist Church. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her granddaughters, listening to Charlie Pride, and watching Lakers basketball.
Survivors include two sons, Kendell Ray Shropshire and his wife Jeanice of Moore, and Tim Shropshire and his wife Penny of Ada; and two granddaughters, Jessica Rae Shropshire of Edmond, and Ashly Dawn Shropshire of Ada. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Bearers will be Brian Howard, Richard Hubble, Tony Nolin, Mike Snook, Dustin Northcutt and Kevin Andrews. Honorary bearers are Cecil Prater and Derek Snook.
