WANDA NEWLUND
ADA-Services for Wanda Delores Newlund, 79, Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Friday at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, Revs. Vernal West, Jerry Wells and Kenny Morrison will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Newlund died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born September 16, 1929 at Seminole, Oklahoma to Dick and Zelma Phillips Dveney. She graduated from Ada High School and moved back to this area in 1966 from Indiana.
She married Richard Craig "Rick" Newlund on December 7, 1947 at Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Newlund was employed at Sears and J. C. Penney's and later for the Good Book Store in Ada for 15 years, where her joy was to minister to everyone she met. She was a member of the Grace Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Newlund, of the home; her children, Donald Craig Newlund, Ardmore, Rebecca Thomas and husband Randy, Ozark, MO, and Lynn Miller and husband Bobby, Edmond; grandchildren, Kelly Rude and husband Chris, Steve Newlund, Jenni Gilewski, Phillip Nelson, and Jamie Owens; one great grandson, Nicholas Rude; her siblings, Leota McDaniel, Atwood, Richard Dveney, Ada, and Linda Farris, Ada.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Bush and Nancy Pendergrass.
Bearers will be Robert West, Matt Sellers, Billy Easley, Terry Winters, Kevin Hargis, Edward Sallee, and Eddie Sallee.
