WANDA HILBURN

ADA-Services for Wanda Fay Hilburn, 76, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Bob Payne and Rev. Carl Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Criswell Funeral Home. They will also receive friends and visitors at their home.

Mrs. Hilburn died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at her home. She was born March 14, 1932 in Ada, Oklahoma, to Roy Thurman and Marie Elizabeth Armstrong Bottoms. She graduated from Latta High School and has lived in the Ada are all her life.

She married Joe Thomas Hilburn on July 15, 1950 at the Aholso Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1977 at Ada. Mrs. Hilburn had worked as a cook in food service in the public school system and at East Central University, retiring from East Central University as a cook. She was also a homemaker, was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Louise Cagle, Ada, Phillis Youngblood Balch and her husband Allen, Ada and Retta Hilburn, Ada; a son, Larry Hilburn and his wife Connie, Roff; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Cagle and his wife Rani, Tammy Cagle Byrd and her husband Thomas, Lisa Cagle Laxton and her husband Brandon, Laura McMillin and her husband Steve, Chad Johnson and his wife Jackie, Leah Youngblood Wyrick and her husband JDon, Lynn Youngblood and his wife Tina, Chris Smith and his wife Kerry and Kevin Smith; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Thomas, Ada, and Betty Brown and her husband Dean, Ada; a sister-in-law, Joyce Bottoms, Ada; several aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Vona Ray Bottoms and Johnny Bottoms; a niece, Brenda Thomas; and a nephew, Dusty Abbott.

Bearers will be grandsons: Jeremy Cagle, Lynn Youngblood, Thomas Byrd, Brandon Laxton, JDon Wyrick, Chris Smith, and Kevin Smith.
