WANDA FOWLER

ADA-Services for Wanda Inez Fowler, 90, Ada, formerly of Texarkana, Texas, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bill Sluder will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Fowler died Monday, August 9, 2010 at a local nursing home. She was born February 14, 1920 at Lula, Oklahoma to David and Mae Roach Brooks. She attended Rocky Point grade school and graduated from Lula High School.

She married James A. Fredrick in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1977. She later married Floyd Fowler. He preceded her in death in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker, a member of Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Texarkana and a volunteer at the Texarkana Community Hospital.

Survivors include four sisters, Willie Mae Williams, Ada, Beatrice Fortner, Ada, Mildred Brisby, Ada, and Doris Teel, Springdale, AR; one brother, Wayne Brooks, Bastrop, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and special great nephews, Keith and Kevin Schutte.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Treas and one brother, R. D. Brooks.

Bearers will be Kenneth Fortner, Kenny Fortner, David Stewart, Scott Fortner, Brad Fortner, and Clay Young. Honorary bearers will be Ellis Fortner and Don Schutte.
