JENKS-Graveside services for Wanda Fay Evans, 78, Jenks, formerly of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Russell Vickers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Evans died Friday, September 26, 2008 at her home. She was born November 21, 1929 at Ada, Oklahoma to Clarence and Annie Abbott Stephens. She attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School.
She married Rev. James L. Evans on February 23, 1948 in Ada. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1998 at Ada. Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a nurse's aide at Valley View Regional Hospital. She and her husband pastored many Baptist Churches including Olney, Union Valley, Fitzhugh, Ahloso, Maud, Pryor, Tulsa, Woodward, Jenks, Konawa, and Valliant.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Evans, Branson, MO, and Steve Evans, Tulsa; a daughter, Rita Kay Kirkendall, Tulsa; two granddaughters; two grandsons; three great granddaughters; and three great grandsons.
