WALTER BURTON
ADA-Services for Walter Thomas Burton, 86, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Burton died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at a local nursing home. He was born June 2, 1927 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma to William Thomas and Opal May Deen Burton. He graduated from Oklahoma State University.
Mr. Burton married Marguerite A. Barnes on December 31, 1955 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2011 in Ada. Mr. Burton was employed with Kerr Research Lab in Ada, retiring after 23 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the military during World War II.
Survivors include a brother, Floyd Burton and his wife Reba of McAlester; a niece, Almeda Harrel of Ada; and several other nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Larry Morris, Kenny Morris, James Doyle Marion, Troy Reust, Travis Reust and Jon King.
