DUB LEWIS
ADA-Services for W. B. "Dub" Lewis, 87, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the service.
Mr. Lewis died Friday, August 17, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born August 2, 1925, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Johnny Jesse "JJ" and Rita Wilbert Smith Lewis. He graduated from Pontotoc High School.
He married Justine Duncan on November 21, 1941. He later married Donna Kay Surgnier on December 6, 1979. She preceded him in death January, 2007. Mr. Lewis was an auto mechanic, an oilfield contractor and later a truck driver. He was a member of the Pontotoc Masonic Lodge, the Ada Elks Lodge #1640 and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Lewis served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre stationed at Pearl Harbor as a deep sea diver and underwater welder.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Wilson Lewis and wife Patty, Sand Springs, and Jerry Lewis and wife Theresa, Ada; a daughter, Sandra Wyche and husband Ross, Fittstown; a step-daughter, Dodie Sales and husband Fred, Ada; a step-son, Heral Rodriguez, Ada; six grandchildren, Tony Webster Lewis, Tonya Lynn Scott, Wesley Wyche, Jessie Wyche, Melanie Jones and Ashley Lewis; four step-grandchildren, Amanda Wood, Cody Higdon, Austin Rodriguez and Abby Rodriguez; six great-grandchildren, Malory Scott, Jordan Scott, Trey Jones, Lillian Wyche, Jarrett Wyche and Violet Wyche; five step-great-grandchildren, Lane Wood, Ace Wood, Georgia Wood, Julius Higdon and Catrina Higdon; and two brothers, Billy Ray Lewis, Chula Vista, CA, and James Eugene Lewis, Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lillian Brooks and Linda McGlaughlin.
Bearers will be Jordan Scott, Jessie Wyche, Wesley Wyche, Cody Higdon, Fred Sales and Keith Wood.
