W. H. "BILL" BAILEY
ADA-Graveside service for W. H. "Bill" Bailey, 85, of Ada, is set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Sluder will officiate.
Mr. Bailey died Monday, April 26, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born October 15, 1924 at Graham, Oklahoma to Walter Howard and Dona Davis Bailey. He attended school in Carter County, Oklahoma.
He married Betty Ann Williams on September 27, 1951 at Denison, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bailey, of the home; a son, Larry Kent Bailey and wife Debbi, granddaughter Sasha Burns, and great grandson Devin Burns of Victoria, Texas; brother, Mike Bailey and wife Naomi, of Edmond, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray "Bojoe" Bailey, on February 20, 1975, of Ada; a brother Theo Ray "Bo" Bailey, of Dardanelle, Arkansas; his parents Howard and Sylvia Bailey and a sister Lawana Bailey all of Maysville, Oklahoma.
"Bailey" owned Bailey's Drive-Inn on Mississippi Street in Ada in the early 1950's. He was a salesman for Ada Furniture Warehouse and McFarland & Robertson Music Co retiring in 1983. Mr. Bailey was a 50-year Masonic Lodge member and a past board member of the Southern Oklahoma Nutrition Program. He was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church, Ada, Oklahoma. His favorite hobbies were raising cattle and working on his land in the country.
