VIVA STONECIPHER
BRISTOW-Services for Viva Jean Stonecipher, 80, Bristow, formerly of Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, David Cottran will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley.
Ms. Stonecipher died Friday, February 27, 2009, at her home. She was born April 12, 1928, at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Rupert Stonecipher, Sr. and Vivian Wallace Stonecipher. She moved to Ada from Wirt, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Dundee High School. She lived in the Ada area from 1956 to 2005, moving to Bristow in 2005. She received her degree in piano from Texas Women's University and in 1956 enrolled at East Central where she received her Master's degree. She was a teacher for 40 years.
Ms. Stonecipher was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Rupert and Peggy Stonecipher, Bristow, Oklahoma; two nephews, Ross and Beverly Stonecipher, Roswell, Georgia, and Kevin Stonecipher, Bristow, Oklahoma; two great-nephews, Brett Stonecipher and Caleb Stonecipher; and one great-neice, Haley Stonecipher.
Bearers will be Bill Scott, Jim Holt, Tom Miller, Bill Hart and Marvin Mitchell.
