Kaye Lewis
Services for Virginia Kaye Lewis, 68, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born September 9, 1947 in Konawa to Jessie Kennith and Jewell Dean Hudson Harrison. She attended grade school at Summers Chapel and graduated from Vamoosa High School. She received a Bachelor's Degree from East Central University in Ada.
She married Joe Lewis November 26, 1971 at Vamoosa. Mrs. Lewis taught school at Vamoosa, Sasakwa, and many other schools in the Ada area. She was a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe, of the home; her mother, Dean Harrison of Konawa; a daughter, Janesa Miller and her husband Keith of Ada; three sisters, Lisa Gonzalez (who was like a daughter to her) and her husband Tanis of Konawa, Jeanie Brewer and her husband Roger of Konawa, and Teresa Townley and her husband Jerry of Washington; a brother, Larry Harrison of Stratford; four grandchildren, Jaylan, Kayson, Heather and Justine; three great-grandchildren, Kale, Josie K and Jevin; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother, Lyndell.
Bearers will be Roger Brewer, Jerry Townley, Tanis Gonzalez, Keith Miller, Jim Lewis and Kevin Townley. Honorary bearers will be Gordon Brewer, Darren Townley, Frankie Carpenter, and Chase Chamberlin.
