Ginny Gerlach
Memorial services for Virginia Lou "Ginny" Gerlach, 85, of Francis will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Daniel will officiate.
Ms. Gerlach passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at a local hospital. She was born April 22, 1930 at Wayne, Michigan to Grant Shirley and Mary Lowell Allison.
Ms. Gerlach was employed with K-Mart in Ada in the jewelry department and the layaway department until her retirement. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Ada. Ms. Gerlach was a volunteer in the Gift Shop at Valley View Regional Hospital and Clark Home In Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was a member of Healthy Heart Club for many years and especially enjoyed performing line dance routines at various community functions including the Pontotoc County Fair. She also belonged to the "1930's" Pen Pal Club for over 20 years.
Ginny enjoyed arts and crafts and excelled in many areas including quilting, crocheting, embroidering, painting, designing and decorating shirts and jackets, making greeting cards, writing poetry and short stories.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Gerlach of Lowell, IN, and Maxine Rice and her husband Neal of Francis; three sons, Rick Gerlach of Mt. Clemens, MI, Grant Gerlach and his wife Rita of Sacramento, CA and Mike Gerlach and his wife Tammy of Cambridge City, IN; her grandchildren, Angela Bonner, IN, Rick Bonner, TX, Kathey Krenz, IN, Ogun Gerlach and Shelley Gerlach, KY, Amy, Joey and Libby Gerlach, MI, Tammie Specht, Jim Specht and wife Heather, Rob Specht and wife Tiffany and Bryan Specht and wife Angela, Francis, OK, Mark Specht and wife Angel, MO, Vanessa Sopke and husband Paul, IN, David Gerlach, IL, Brian Gerlach and wife Tiffany, IN, Sarah McGinley and husband Jeremy, IN, Lindsay Nesbitt and husband Matt, IN, Kim Riggs and husband Ryan, IN, and Jake Gerlach; two sisters, Beth Hansen and husband Lloyd, Grand Rapids, MI and Anita Allison, Sonora, CA; a brother, Grant Allison and wife Rita, Menlo Park, CA; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson, Braden Specht, Francis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rebecca Gerlach; and two sisters, Pat Allison and Peggy Bowler.
