VIRGINIA BINGER
ADA-A Memorial service for Virginia Charlene Binger, 75, Ada will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D. C. A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21st at J.D.'s Café in Ada.
Mrs. Binger died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at her home. She was born December 17, 1935 at Harden City, Oklahoma to Charlie and Addie Doyal Davis. She graduated from Stonewall High School in 1953 and then moved to New York City where she served in the United States Army. She served for two years in the Women's Army Corps and held the rank of Private.
During her time in the army, she met and married Staff Sergeant Gerard A. Binger on January 23, 1955 at Fort Jay, New York. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1965.
Mrs. Binger worked as a legal secretary for Harold Hall, attorney in Ada as well as Parsons and Parsons in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Survivors include her four children, Catherine Prather, Dianna Haney and her husband David, David Binger and his wife Patti and Wayne Binger; her grandchildren, Mandy Simmons, Taryn Haney, Allen Binger and Allison Binger; one great grandchild, Devanee Simmons; four sisters, Anne Johnson, Barbara McMeans and her husband J. L, Pat Fortner and her husband Kenneth, and Kay Henry and her husband Wayne; one brother, John Davis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Jimmy Davis; and a son-in-law, Bob Prather.
