PAULINE ROAN
ADA-Services for Violet Pauline Roan, 91, of Ada, formerly of Stonewall, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jay Franks will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.
Mrs. Roan died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at her home. She was born June 27, 1921 north of Stonewall, Oklahoma to Eugene Jackson and Ola Mae Onstott Ellis. She attended grade school in Blanchard. She moved to this area when she was 14 years old to live with her Uncle and Aunt Bill and Ina Ellis. She lived in this area most of her life.
She married Jess Nunn Roan on November 26, 1937. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1968. Mrs. Roan was a homemaker and a longtime member of Stonewall Baptist Church and currently the First Baptist Church in Ada.
Survivors include four sons, Jess Lucian Roan and wife JoAnn of Amarillo, TX, Will Roan and wife Waverly of Hobbs, NM, Paul Roan and wife Betty of Tishomingo and Ben Roan and wife Sue of Byng; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Ellis and David Ellis, both of Hinton; and a sister, Mary Lou Sims of Hinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Leo Wayne Roan, brothers, Jay Ellis, Marvin Ellis, Elza Ellis, Burnis Ellis, and a sister, Edna Mae Frost.
Bearers will be Chris Roan, Mark Roan, Brad Roan, John Roan, C. T. Roan and Richard Sims.
