ALLEN-Graveside services for Violet Mae Crisenberry Hawkins Mason, 83, Allen, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Black Rock Cemetery, near Allen, Oklahoma. Rev. Jim Lawrence will officiate.

Mrs. Mason died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at an Allen nursing home. She was born May 3, 1924 near Gerty, Oklahoma to Jim and Elzie A. Manuel Crisenberry. She attended Black Rock and McCall's Chapel school.

She married Albert G. Hawkins in 1941 at Francis, Oklahoma. He died in 1975 at Grass Valley, California. She later married Ernest L. Mason in 1983 at Reno, Nevada. Mrs. Mason was a homemaker, and previously was a cook in California. She and her husband moved back to Allen about 1984 from Grass Valley, California. Mrs. Mason was a member of Calvin Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Mason; a son, Johnny J. Hawkins, Allen; a daughter, "Penny" Alberta Harper, Allen; sister, Dora Wilson, Ada; three grandsons, Johnny Hawkins, Jr., San Antonio, Texas, David L. Harper, Allen, and Donald A. Harper and wife Denene, Corn, Oklahoma; three great granddaughters, Elizabeth Harper, Allen, Penny Harper, Ada, and Charlotte Uteg, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two great grandsons, Christopher and Jonnathon Hicks, Ada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert G. Hawkins, a brother, Floyd L. Crisenberry, a granddaughter, Deborah Harper Hicks, and an infant great grandson.
