VIOLA WEATHERLY
ROWLETT, TEXAS-Services for Viola Belle Weatherly, 89, Rowlett, Texas, formerly of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Rusty Fuller and Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Weatherly died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at a Rowlett, Texas nursing center. She was born March 28, 1919 at Steedman, Oklahoma to Nathaniel and Alcie Ragan Flud. She attended elementary school in Burr Valley, Oklahoma.
She married George Minor in the fall of 1941. He died August 9, 1966. They were married for 25 years. She later married Everett Weatherly on April 28, 1967. He died March 17, 1982. They were married for 15 years. Mrs. Weatherly was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in the Ada area and was a resident of the Ada Baptist Village for several years before moving to Rowlett, Texas.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Minor and wife Joyce, Rockwall, Texas, and Gary Minor and wife Sharon, Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren Cary Minor, Andy Minor and Marcy Roth; and five great grandchildren, Jackson, Caroline and Henry Roth, and Austin and Anastasia Minor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, George Minor and Everett Weatherly, nine brothers, and three sisters.
Bearers will be Cary Minor, Andy Minor, Tony Minor, Brendan Roth, Don Sayre, and Bob Davis.
