Hazel Kymes

Services for Vida Hazel Kymes, 93, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Her son, Charles Kymes, will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery at Wewoka.

Mrs. Kymes passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Featherstone Assisted Living Center in Ada. She was born July 1, 1924 at Jerusalem, AR to James Monroe and Allie Byers Chism. She graduated from Francis High School in 1944.

She married Lester H. Kymes August 27, 1946. He preceded her in death August 31, 2008. Mrs. Kymes was a Nursing Assistant at Valley View Regional Hospital, retiring in 1988. She was a longtime member of Sasakwa Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Kymes and wife Cheryl of Ada and Charles Kymes and wife Nancy of Bixby; a daughter, Barbara Frantz and husband Doug of Mustang; and three grandchildren, Stacy Kymes, Tyson Kymes and Kristi Connors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Duel Chism, Alvin Chism, Tollie Chism, John Chism, Leo Chism and Cleo Chism; and a sister, Lucille Moon.

Bearers will be Doug Frantz, Stacy Kymes, Joe Moon, Tyson Kymes, Sean Connors, Derek Cooper and Devin Cooper.
