Vicki Lynn Strong

Memorial services for Vicki Lynn Strong, 63, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Southwest Church of Christ, Brian Lewis and Floyd Kaiser will officiate.

Ms. Strong passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at a local hospital. She was born December 28, 1956 at Altus to Harold Duane and Leona G. Thacker Strong. She attended Washington Grade School and graduated from Ada High School. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Central University.

Vicki was a Jr. High teacher at Oklahoma Christian Academy in Edmond, and a High School teacher and girls' basketball coach at both Stratford High School and Tuttle High School. She received her Master's Degree in Counseling from East Central University and became a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at DRS in both Shawnee and Oklahoma City. She continued her counseling at DRS in Ada for the last few years of her career before retiring.

Vicki loved sports and was an avid tennis player at both Ada High School and East Central University. She also was a devoted University of Oklahoma sports fan and followed nearly all sports at OU.

She was a longtime, faithful member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada.

Survivors include her mother, Leona Strong; brother, Gary Strong and wife Teresa; sister, Pam Butler and husband Jeff; nephew, Bradley Butler and wife Chelsea; niece, Laura Gould and husband William (Willy); niece, Brooke Flippin and husband Seth; and nephew, Brett Butler; great-nephews, Dallas Gould, Baker Butler, and Cameron Butler; and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Strong.
