VERNICE LUCAS
TULSA-Services for Vernice Opal Lucas, 88, Tulsa, formerly of the Ada area, are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Lucas died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at a Tulsa hospital. She was born September 22, 1920 at Lawrence, Oklahoma to Nell and Minnie Earnest Johnson. She attended Lawrence Elementary and graduated from Fitzhugh High School.
She married George W. Lucas on January 18, 1940 at Ada, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2001 in Tulsa. Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker, an avid gardener and affiliated with the Baptist church.
Survivors include two sons, James Lucas and wife Elaine, Roff, and Michael Lucas and wife Norma, St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Deborah Ann Edwards, Tulsa; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Jay, Chris, Dan, Cathy, and Shelly; and ten great grandchildren.
