TAP KENNEDY
NOBLE-Graveside services for Verba Oletha "Tap" Baber Kennedy, 86, Yukon, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennedy died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at a Yukon nursing facility. She was born Nov. 5, 1924, to Oscar Edward and Bobbie Kincaid Brewer Baber at Tishomingo. She graduated from Pontotoc High School and was a homemaker. She and Roy Kennedy were married in 1975. He died in August 1989.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Clark and wife Gena, Noble; three daughters, Verbalene Simpson and husband Cliff, Chapel Hill, TN, Teresa Stoud and husband Tony, Guthrie, and Lenora Englebretson, Union City; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James "Peck" Baber; three sisters, Mildred Pierce, Mary Ann Holt and Betty Jo Hamilton; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
