VERA PHILPOT

BYNG-Services for Vera Estelle Philpot, 82, Byng are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Denney Cemetery.

Mrs. Philpot died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at an Allen nursing home. She was born June 24, 1928 near Stonewall, Oklahoma to Thomas Patrick and Bertie Edith Lilley Shannon. She attended Stonewall schools.

She married Jack Waldon Walker. He preceded her in death. She then married Lloyd Allen "Bud" Godfrey August, 1966. He died March 29, 1994. She later married Joe Philpot on February 6, 1995. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2005. Mrs. Philpot was a salesperson for Neal's Shoe Store in Ada for several years.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Walker, Oklahoma City, Tom Walker, Ada, and Jack Walker, Fernley, Nevada; three daughters, Sharon McConnell, Ada, Sandi Maihos, Oklahoma City, and Debbie Hasskarl, Ada; nineteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Bearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Donnie Walker, Brian Walker, Jon Walker, Jacob Walker, Justin P. Elliott and son-in-law, Joe Maihos. Honorary bearers will be Scooter McAnally, Shawn Walker, Shane Alexander and Timmie Owens.
