Vera Collier

Services for Vera Grace Collier, 92, of Washington, OK, formerly of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada.

Mrs. Collier passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her home. She was born March 26, 1924 in Jesse to John Burton and Mary Banks Jarratt McGehee. She attended Jesse grade school and Stonewall High School.

She married John W. Collier April 24, 1974. He preceded in death May 28, 2010. Mrs. Collier was a clerk at Steen Pharmacy in Ada until her retirement. She later worked at Treasures and Time. She was a longtime member of Homer Baptist Church. Mrs. Collier was a caregiver to many and also enjoyed oil painting.

Survivors include a daughter, Denise Edens of Washington, OK; a son, Tim Forrester of Washington, D. C.; a granddaughter, Lesli Lunsford of Washington, OK; a niece, Mary Jo Whitwell of Ada; and three nephews, Roy McGehee, Morris and Jeannie McGehee and Floyd and Dava McGehee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Danny Lane Forrester; and a step-daughter, Penney Forrester.
