CHRISTINE FOLGER

ADA-Services for Velta Christine Folger, 91, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Tony Folger will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Folger died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born July 19, 1917 near Booneville, Arkansas to Glen and Josephine McMillian Koontz. She moved to this area as a child with her family from Arkansas. She graduated from Ada High School in 1934.

She married Garley G. Folger on July 5, 1934. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1996. She was a co-owner with her husband of Folger's Drive-In for many years and owned and operated Christine's Fashion Shop for several years. She was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church since 1934.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Folger and wife Karen, Ada, and Jerry Folger and wife Wanda, Ada; a sister, Bobbie Novack, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Gerald Koontz, Lindell Koontz, G. U. Koontz, and Donald Koontz, and a sister, Lorene Fallis.

Bearers will be James Smith, Pat Smith, Nathan Folger, Matthew Folger, Jason Downing, David Vangundy, and Ted Dykstra. Honorary bearers will be the Mature Melody Makers Choir of the First Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class.
