LUCY GATEWOOD

ADA-Services for Velma Lucille "Lucy" Gatewood, 75, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Al Beck will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery.

Mrs. Gatewood died Friday, July 31, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born February 27, 1934 at Ada, Oklahoma to Elzie Bryan and Daisy Velma George Cooper. She graduated from Byng High School and attended college.

She married Donald Lee Gatewood on November 22, 1980 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Gatewood was an accounting secretary for Brockway Glass Company for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Don Gatewood, of the home; her mother, Daisy Cooper, Ada; a daughter, Karla Chaffin and her husband Gary, Ada; a son, Keith Flowers, Ada; a step-daughter, Karen Sawler, Ada; one sister, Wanda Jenkins, Paoli; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Dale Cooper, a step-son and his wife, Rick and Debra Gatewood, a step-daughter, Tawnya Gatewood, and a grandson, Rickey Gatewood.

Bearers will be Wade Hoover, Ryan Clinton, Lee Dougherty, Johnny Grigg, Kent Lee and Toby Cooper.
