Velda Stewart

Velda Stewart, 81 of Roff, passed away November 13, 2019. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Lightning Ridge Cemetery, Pastor Steve Wilburn will officiate.

Velda attended Hastings High School, Hastings, OK and graduated in 1956. She continued her education at OCW (Oklahoma College for Women) graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from East Central University in 1964.

Velda taught in the Arkansas City High School, Arkansas City, KS for 32 years. On June 30, 1962 she married Carl Dwain Stewart.  He was a teacher and an elementary principal in Arkansas City, KS elementary schools.  After retiring she and her husband Dwain moved back to Roff, OK.  Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Fitzhugh First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain Stewart ; a sister, Ernestine Massey; an infant son, Paul Dwain; and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Darin Stewart and wife Tiffaney of McKinney, TX; and a granddaughter, Emmye Stewart.
