TONY MORGAN
ROFF-Services for Tony Elmer Morgan, 86, of Roff are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Roff. Rev. Tony Folger will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Veterans Center in Sulphur. He was born October 26, 1925 in Coal County, Oklahoma to Elmer Walter and Edna Opal Dalton Morgan. He and his family moved to the Roff area in 1934. He attended Roff schools and was drafted into the U. S. Army during high school and was later honorably discharged.
He married Maudell Nicholas Morgan on August 18, 1947 in Coal County, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in June, 1962. They made their home in Roff. Mr. Morgan was a rancher all his life.
During his lifetime he achieved many honors. He was awarded Eagle Scout honor through the Boys Scouts of America. He was a member of the Roff Masonic Lodge for 63 years, a 32nd degree Mason through the McAlester Consistory for 59 years and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Since Mr. Morgan was drafted into the U.S. Army during high school, he did not receive his high school diploma. On his 80th birthday, he was awarded his high school diploma through the High School Diploma Program for WW II Veterans. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Roff First Baptist Church for nearly 75 years.
Survivors include his sister, Lenora Morgan, Roff; brother, Junior Morgan, AR; a son, Jim Morgan and wife Pat, Roff; daughters, Linda Kay Clinton and husband Phillip, Guthrie, Becky Perrin, Norman; grandchildren, Lance Clinton and wife Sydney, Tony Clinton, Michelle Daniels, Amber Perrin, Jacki Perrin, Amanda Parnell and husband Jamie, Alicson Scott and husband Jason, and Jimmy Morgan and wife Rebekah; and great grandchildren, Cynthia and Shannon Malone, Madison, Nick, Luke, Kennedy, and Gabriel Clinton, Koree Little, Ollie Robbins, Coleton and Logan Parnell, Keela Scott and James Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maudell; a son, Gary Morgan; and a very close friend, Jimmy Walker.
Bearers will be his grandsons, Jimmy Morgan, Lance Clinton, and Tony Clinton, Jason Scott, Rodd Wellington and Dave Hughes.
