On November 11, 2023, he married Audrey Jill Schreiber (Ballard).
Tony is survived by his wife, Jill, of the home; children, Jay Morrison and Alex Flowers, of Tulsa, Rebecca Hanna and John, of Tulsa, Jakob Miller, of Ada, Andrew Miller, of Ada, Abigail Miller, of Ada, Judah Ballard, of Ada, Mace Ballard and Ledi, of Tulsa, and Luke Ballard, of Ada; his parents, Mike and Sandi Miller, of Tulsa; sister, Heather Taylor and husband, Michael, of Pleasant Hill, MO; brother, Ed Miller and wife, Kim, of Kansas City, MO; grandmother, Margaret Miller of Wagoner; and two grandchildren, Judah Hanna and Joseph Hanna, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
To have known Anthony Miller was to know Jesus. To know pure love, kindness, patience, grace, and goodness. His family is convinced he was the best human to ever have walked the earth. He did not know strangers - not because he was particularly outgoing, but because he did not know a person he would not go out of his way to help like they were his own family.
He loved children. His own and all others. His kids’ friends were always welcome and treated like his own. They referred to him as the “cool dad”- which is funny because if you knew him, you know he was a giant nerd. But he tried to make all kids feel accepted and heard and taken care of. He loved working in youth ministry and teaching young people about Jesus.
He loved video games, Lord of the Rings, watching TikTok like a teenage girl. He loved baking and made the best chocolate chip banana bread. When his kids were sad, he would pull them to his side and kiss the top of their heads. He made an active effort to participate in whatever weird stuff his kids were interested in, even if it made no sense to him. He was gentle, and funny, and selfless and giving and all of the things that were good about the world.
He loved his wife, Jill. She was his person. You’ve never seen two people more in love, more destined to be together, more perfect for each other.
He loved his parents, his sister, and his brother dearly. Even though they lived miles and hours apart, he stayed in touch with them nearly every day.
He loved all things history and at 43 years old, he returned to college with plans to become a history teacher so that he could impact more lives.
He loved all kinds of music from classical to German to heavy metal to worship. He loved being outside and working with his hands, whether it was woodworking or gardening or gaming. He would get an idea, disappear to the shop, and come in the house with some new creation.
He loved baseball, and sports in general, and had dreams of being a major league baseball player, but chose to be a family man instead. That’s where his whole heart was and he lived it every single day up until his very last breath. We will carry that love in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
The time we had on earth with him will never have been enough. Thank goodness we will see him again one day.
