TOMMY "SARG" THOMAS
ADA-Services for Tommy Ray "Sarg" Thomas, 64, of Ada, formerly of Pontotoc are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Blue Baptist Church, Revs. Button Tisdell and Larry Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home. He was born July 5, 1947 in Pontotoc, Oklahoma to Johnie and Nickie Barrett Thomas. He attended Pontotoc and Stonewall schools and graduated from Stonewall High School. He attended Connors State College for two years.
He married Glenda Kay Stevens in 1970. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2010. Mr. Thomas was employed in the oilfield industry for 31 years. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the U. S. Army in Korea.
Survivors include his father, Johnie Thomas of Pontotoc; two sons, Tommy Jacob Thomas and Donny Ray Thomas, both of Ada; a daughter, Tanis Helene Shaw of Ada; a special friend, Billy Runnels of Ada; one sister, Sue and her husband James Button of Mill Creek; a brother, Danny Joe Thomas of Pontotoc; six grandchildren, Courtney Shaw, Desmond Shaw, Desirea Shaw, Isaiah Shaw, Tanisha Shaw and Keagon Shaw; and one great grandchild, Tommy Ray Montana Shaw.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife; a son, Stephen Eugene Thomas; grandson, DeShiko Montana Thomas; and a brother, Jimmy Wayne Thomas.
Bearers will be Bubba Hawkins, Dustin Harris, Derrek Williamson, Bobby Hatton, Shane Hatton and Desmond Shaw. Honorary bearers will be Justin Lewis and Dustin Simpson.
