Services for Tommie Jean Beddow, 83, of Ada will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at First Baptist Church Ada, OK. Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Her burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at 5:00PM-7:00PM Friday, September 4th, at Criswell Funeral Home
Tommie Jean passed away on Sunday, August 30th, 2026, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Tommie Jean Beddow was born August 15, 1943, to Helen & Thomas Middleton in Fort Worth, TX. She married the love of her life, Thomas Ray Beddow, on June 12th, 1964. The two were married for 57 years. Tommie Jean attended Midwestern State University and East Central University receiving her Bachelor’s in Education and went on to receive her Master’s in Education from East Central University as well. Tommie Jean was a public educator for 37 years, teaching at both Stonewall and Ada City Schools throughout her career. She also taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Ada, which was a passion of hers. Along with her love for teaching children, Tommie Jean and her husband Tommy were members of the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and served as a part of a team who coordinated Lay Renewals at churches throughout the state of Oklahoma. Tommie Jean was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Beddow of Ada, OK; Daughter Kelli Beddow-Barrowman and husband David of Ada, OK; One sister: Joann Cooper and husband Mike of New London, TX; Five Grandchildren: Stephen Miller and wife Paige of Ada, OK; Marshall Miller and husband Miles of Noble, OK; Julia Carpenter and husband Josh of Noble, OK; Luke Beddow of Oklahoma City, OK; and Zachary Beddow of Pauls Valley, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Ben, and beloved husband Tommy Beddow.
