Thomas Yoss

Memorial services for Thomas Glenn Yoss are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.

Thomas passed away in his home in Roff, Oklahoma on August 31, 2024. Tom was the son of the late Glenn Rudolph Yoss and Marion Odell Yoss Boatright.  He was born on September 27, 1947 in Timpson, Texas and attended various schools in Texas until moving to Leakey, Texas.  He grew up and attended school in Leakey.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and step-father, Floyd C. Boatright, and siblings: Howard (Bo) Boatright, Jessie Boatright, Billy Boatright, Leon Boatright, Terry Bell Yoss, Toni Yoss-Berry, Reba Brock, and Terry Boatright.  He is survived by his siblings: Veda Goines, Tiny Marie Shackelford, Timmy Yoss, Hank Boatright, Tammie Helm, Floyd Lee Boatright, Barbara Elmore, and Albert Boartight. He is also survived by many brother-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, neices and nephews.

He moved to Quapaw, Oklahoma at the age of thirteen, but returned to Leakey as an adult where he worked for Bandera Electric. He married Riva May Thompson and they lived in Leakey for numerous years. He attended lineman school at College Station in Bryan, Texas. He moved to Ada, Oklahoma as a young man where he resided. He is preceded in death by his first wife Riva May.

Tom worked many years for PEC in Ada, Oklahoma. Tom met Nelda at The White Kitchen where Nelda was a waitress. He and Nelda were married in Ada, Oklahoma on September 1, 1980. They joined their two families.  They lived in Reagan and finally Roff, Oklahoma for many years as he continued to work at PEC until his retirement in May 1, 2010.

He is suvived by his wife, Nelda Yoss, and their children, Glenn and Andrea Yoss, Michael and Kylie Yoss, David and Virginia McDonald and Misty McDonald. Tom and Nelda had fourteen grandchildren: he is preceded in death by Conner Bivings. He is survived by his grandchildren: Cady Landsdale, Andrew Yoss, Matthew Yoss,Whitney Bivings, Kaitlyn Coatney, Conner Bivings, Lacy Yoss, Kaylie Bivings, Yancey Yoss, Paige Hill, Erika Wilson, Chloe Wilson, Demi Hill, and Savana Hill. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.

Tom loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grand children. He also loved to fish and hunt, as well as garden. He spent a lot of his time in his workshop doing various wood working projects. He and Nelda spent many years camping, fishing, barbecuing, and raising their children.
