BYNG-Services for Thomas Max "Jaybird" Roberts, 81, Byng, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Boswell. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Roberts died Friday, August 2, 2013, at his home. He was born September 12, 1934, in Duncan to Jessie "Tut" Thomas and Lois Lee Jones Roberts. He lived in this area most of his life.
Mr. Roberts was a truck driver and had attended the Missionary Baptist Church in the Sunshine Community near Roff. He served in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Tonya Jones and her husband Joey of Boswell; two sons, Thomas Max Roberts II, Ada, and George William "Bill" Roberts, Crowley, Texas; eight grandchildren; a brother, Joe Roberts and wife Lois, Ada; several nephews, nieces and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers will be Tom Roberts, Mike Roberts, Justin Roberts, Mark Allred, Rocky Howard and Joey Jones.
