THELMA L. HOOPER

ADA-Services for Thelma L. Hooper, 59, Ada, are 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church, Rev. Jimmy Keith officiating. Burial follows at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Hooper died on Wednesday, July 8, 209, at a local hospital. She was born April 18, 1950, in Hartshorne to William D. and Iva McCarroll Mordecai. She moved to Ada in 1976 from Hartshorne. She attended school in Hartshorne and graduated from Hartshorne High School. She worked in the Pontotoc County Treasurer's office from June 1, 1967 – November 30, 2004, where she served as Deputy Treasurer and later as County Treasurer. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and had also attended Union Valley.

Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Ahrens and her husband Stacy, Madill; two grandchildren, Hailey Ahrens and Tyler Ahrens; five brothers, Charles Mordecai, Hartshorne; Vernon Mordecai, San Jose, California; William Mordecai, Hartshorne; Joe Mordecai, McAlester; and James Mordecai, Hartshorne; and a sister, Leona Glenn, Hartshorne. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Mordecai.

Bearers are Sylvester Gipson, Robert Vinson, Ernie Staggs, Joey Ardrey, Eugene Mordecai and Robert Kirk.
