JEWEL CORVIN
ADA-Services for Tempie Jewel Corvin, 90, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jimmy Keith will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Corvin died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born February 17, 1919 at Francis, Oklahoma to John and Louella VanZant Southerland. She attended Homer and Byng schools and also attended Murray State College in Tishomingo.
She married Joseph B. Corvin July 3, 1943. He preceded her in death June 29, 2008. Mrs. Corvin was a homemaker and had also worked at Hazel Atlas Glass Company for many years and was an active member of the Assembly of God Church. In retirement, she enjoyed a lifetime membership in the Good Sams Traveling Club and served in the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Smith and her husband Mack, Union Valley; one granddaughter, Amy Smith, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Ann Krannig of Garland, TX and Bobbie Robbins of Ada; and a sister-in-law, Norma Lee Southerland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Johnny B. Corvin in September 2008.
Bearers will be church members.
