TANEKO SANDERS
ADA-Services for Taneko "Peggy" Sanders, 80, Ada are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home, Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Mrs. Sanders died Friday, September 30, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born January 1, 1931 in Kumamoto, Japan to Megumi and Tsuru Kodama Harada. She moved to America in 1971 from Japan and moved to Ada in 1979.
She married Donald Lee Sanders on November 16, 1970 in Japan. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1993. Mrs. Sanders retired from Wrangler/VF Corp. of Ada in 1996. She became a Christian in 1998 and was a longtime faithful member of the Abiders Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two nieces, Mie Saito and Mika Yoshitake, both of Japan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister.
Bearers will be Jerry Duncan, Vernon Robinson, Glen Griffin, Verdo Hooker, George Welch, B. J. Smart and Jerry Wells. Honorary bearers will be Don Noble, Darryl Hatcher and George McKinnis.
