T. W. SIMS

STONEWALL-Services for T. W. Sims, 70, Stonewall, are 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial follows at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. Chickasaw Honor Guard will perform military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Sims died on Monday, May 16, 2011, at his home. He was born July 23, 1940, in Ahloso to George Washington Sims and Dena Thelma Coots Sims. He graduated from Stonewall High School in 1958, attended college and served in the U. S. Navy. He was a truck driver for the City of Ada for 20 years, working in the Street and Water Department. He was a member of Ahloso Baptist Church.

He married Opal Louise Eidson on May 25, 1978 in Gainesville, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Sims, of the home; three sons, Franklin D. Pursiville and wife Shawna, Stratford; Richard Pursiville and wife Amy, Atoka; and Thomas Sims, Ada; two daughters, Vivian Randell and husband Will, McAlester; and Shawna Poe and husband Alan, Ada; two brothers, Preston Sims and wife Jean, Moore; and Lewis Sims and wife Doris, Ada; four sisters, Margaret Green, Ada; Georgia Jennings, Ft. Smith, Arkansas; Peggy Harbor and husband Ed, Tishomingo; and Mildred Keplar, Neosho, Missouri; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Cassie Twana Sims; grandson, Trystin W. Sims; and three sisters, Ruth Sexton, Evelyn Timmons and Lois Hellman.

Bearers are Franklin Daniel Pursiville, Christopher Pursiville, Travis Randell, Richard Lee Pursiville, Alan Poe and Sandy Schutte.
