BENTON, AR-Services for Steven Joe Moon, 40, of Benton, Arkansas, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Charles Kymes will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Moon died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at his home in Benton, AR. He was born January 13, 1973, in Seminole, Oklahoma. He graduated from Ada High School in 1991 and in 1997 received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry from East Central University in Ada. Mr. Moon was president of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity while at East Central University.
He married Shannon Lazarski on September 10, 1999, in Killeen, Texas. Mr. Moon was a Food and Drug Administration Scientist at Pine Bluff Research Center through the U. S. Health Services. He enlisted in the U. S. Army on July 29, 1998, and received a medical discharge on January 21, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Shannon Moon, of the home; two sons, Jackson Moon and Tyler Moon, both of the home; his parents, Glenda and Jack Terry of Konawa, and Joe and Glenda Moon of Ada; a sister, Tina Moon, Shawnee; grandparents, Evert and Lillian Anderson of Konawa; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Suzanne Lazarski of Powder Springs, GA; brother-in-law, Bradford Lazarski of Powder Springs, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Valerie and Gian Park of Powder Springs, GA; and two nieces, Rachel and Lauren Park, both of Powder Springs, GA.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mirl and Lucille Moon.
