Steve Kirk, Jr.

Services for Steve Kirk, Jr., 97, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Mark Welch will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Kirk passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home. He was born October 23, 1920 at Cheyenne, OK to Stephen Henry Kirk and Susie Verena Wooley Kirk. He graduated from Hickory High School.

He married Mavis Fay Collum December 26, 1939. Mr. Kirk was a farmer and later he was a carpenter. He was a member of the United Church of God, where he served as an Elder.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis, of the home; three daughters, Brenda Phillips, Ada, Darlene Mischnick, Mineola, TX and Angela Marvin, Vanoss; a son, Carey Kirk and wife Connie, Fitzhugh; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his children, Irene Davis, Dwain Kirk, Ellen Barnett and Vinson Kirk; two grandsons, Brandon Kirk and Chris Kirk; two granddaughters, Darla Banks and Tracey Knott; five brothers; and one sister.

Bearers will be Jim Mann, Ed Doden, Ernie Sheppard, Ronnie Mackey, Leon Barnett and Jerald Kliewer. Honorary bearer will be Ed Dowd.
